ALIGHT – Alliance to Lead Impact in Global Human Trafficking (“ALIGHT”) is strongly committed to protecting the privacy of our donors, website visitors and other individuals who communicate with ALIGHT. We wish to help you better understand the information we gather, how we handle it, whether we disclose it to anyone, and your options regarding our use of, and your ability to correct, this information. The following Privacy Policy applies when you make a donation to ALIGHT, either online or otherwise, as well as when you visit our site, alightnet.org, or otherwise share your personal information with ALIGHT as discussed below. Donations
If you make a donation, either online or otherwise, we will request certain personally identifiable information about you (such as your name, address, telephone number, email address, and credit card information). This information enables us to process your donation and communicate with you about it. In addition, we may use such information to improve our marketing and promotional efforts, keep you updated about our work, analyze website usage, and improve our website’s content, layout, and services. Online donations are processed through a secure server operated by Paypal, a third-party vendor not owned by, or affiliated with, ALIGHT. Information provided by a donor through the online donation form will be accessible to PayPal in order to complete the transaction and, as indicated in PayPal’s privacy policy, is retained only as long as needed by PayPal to process the gift. PayPal states that it does not sell, trade or share personal or credit card information with any other third party. Privacy Preferences
ALIGHT reserves the right to send updates, newsletters, and donation solicitations (“Communications”) via email or mailing addresses provided by a donor or supporter through our email sign-up sheet unless specific preferences are otherwise noted. Online Communications are facilitated through Gmail by Google and Mailchimp, each third-party vendors not owned by, or affiliated with, ALIGHT. Read Google’s Privacy Policy here. In general, we may share your information with third-party business partners, for instance, for the purpose of enhancing our services. If you do not want us to share your personal information with these companies. Donors and supporters may change their communication preferences at any time, including by opting out of future Communications or by having their personal information deleted from our database. Employment and Volunteering
In connection with seeking employment or a volunteer position with ALIGHT, you may decide to submit, through our sites or otherwise, personally identifiable information (including your name, address, telephone number, email address and any other personally identifiable information requested on our online and offline forms, as well as an electronic or paper copy of your resume/CV). All information entered into any online or offline forms related to employment or volunteering is strictly private, and will be viewed only by ALIGHT for human resources purposes. No information stored or submitted in such forms will be used for any purpose other than to assess your qualifications as an employee or volunteer for ALIGHT.
Other Disclosures
Please be advised that we may disclose your personal information to the government or to third parties pursuant to law enforcement inquiries, court orders, subpoenas and similar requests, or when we otherwise believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary or appropriate in connection with any activity that violates the law or may expose us to liability.
Information We Collect
ALIGHT may collect limited demographic and geo-locational information in order to conduct our operations. Any such information retained is core to our evaluation of services provided to persons contacting our service providers. Personal or other sensitive information will only be shared with service providers who help us achieve our core operations. In addition, such service providers may only use such information for the purposes for which we engaged them.
Use of Information
In addition to providing services, ALIGHT may use Aggregate Information collected form third parties to analyze trends, produce reports regarding such trends, or other such information as necessary to achieve ALIGHT’s mission. “Aggregate Information” is information from which Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”) has been removed and PII cannot be derived from any such Aggregate Information with reasonable efforts.
Use of Website
Our web servers automatically collect non-personal information such as the domain name of the Internet access provider, the Internet protocol address used to connect the computer to the Internet, the average time spent on our website, pages viewed, information searched for, access times and other relevant statistics.
Our website includes social media features, such as the Facebook Like button, and widgets, such as the “Share This” button. These features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our site, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. Social media features and widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our website. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policies of the companies providing them.

We encourage parents to monitor their children’s use of the Internet and to help us protect their privacy by instructing them never to provide personal information on this site or any other without permission. We will never attempt to extract unnecessary information from our users, regardless of age.
