2. Grow Awareness and Train Professionals

ALIGHT’s impact and expertise on human trafficking has led to presentations at the 61st U.N. Commission on the Status of Women event on human trafficking and Princeton University Center for Information Technology Policy. ALIGHT has also delivered trainings at the Freedom Network USA Conference and the American Bar Association.

3. Contribute Skills

Are you someone who wants to be part of anti-trafficking efforts and contribute your specialized skills? We welcome your enthusiasm!

Right now, we are actively seeking candidates for the below positions to further the mission of unlocking a fresh start for survivors of human trafficking. All positions take place on a flexible, remote schedule and are on a pro bono basis. To express your interest, please send a us cover letter and your resume (indicate “Volunteer” and the position sought in the subject line).

Intake Advocate

ALIGHT is looking for a talented LCSW or MSW who is passionate about helping human trafficking survivors in our community. This role provides critical support for the warm line, working remotely to screen (by phone) for human trafficking and post survivors’ requests for legal help through the app. Once attorneys respond to requests, the Intake Advocate helps the survivor connect to the attorney for the pro bono advocacy, counsel and/or representation requested, as well as conduct some follow-up where needed. The ideal candidate for this role would be able to devote 1-2 hours per week, have experience working with human trafficking survivors (and training on screening for human trafficking), and be able to quickly (within 1 business day) respond to a call from a potential survivor. Bilingual a plus!

Grant Writing Associate

The Grant Writing Associate is responsible for researching, applying for and managing grants for new funding for ALIGHT. The Grant Writing Associate joins our development team to contribute 10 hours per week to this position. This is a great opportunity to channel prior experience in securing grants and building relationships with institutional donors to contribute to building the capacity of a mission-driven anti-trafficking organization while honing skills in strategy, research and writing.

Outreach Associate

This is an opportunity for an advocate passionate about supporting human trafficking survivors’ needs and building on their past work in the human trafficking/victim services community. The Outreach Associate joins the program team to contribute 5-10 hours per week to this position. Responsibilities include attending meetings and task force events, promoting cross-collaboration with community service organizations and cultivating partnerships. MSW or LCSW and past victim services advocacy experience preferred, as well as a 6+ month commitment.

Graphic Design Associate

We are looking for a graphic designer to work on a project basis for up to 5 hours per week. Projects may include outreach, resource and promotional material, as well as presentation design, newsletters and web-ready graphics. Past work experience with various digital and print design required. Videography skills a plus.

Social Media & Marketing Associate

Are you savvy on social media and want to put your background and research on human trafficking to use? The Social Media Associate creates content, schedules posts and engages with the public on these important issues. We look to work with someone who can devote 5-10 hours per week to this position and has great ideas about how to effective the reach of ALIGHT’s message.

4. Become an Ambassador of Light to Support ALIGHT

The ALIGHT Ambassadors of Light Program is an opportunity for individuals, teams, community groups, professional services firms and other organizations. Ambassadors step into leadership and engage their community to help human trafficking survivors in our community. There are many ways to channel what you are already doing – with an added purpose. From organizing a fundraiser at a local restaurant for your colleagues, to running a marathon with a mission. You can make a difference.
